I am recently studying Praxis 5511, and on my practice exam, I got 61/120 questions right. I don't know how ETS calculates the final score. Can someone tell me if I can pass the exam with this score or how many questions I need to get right to pass? My passing score has to be 150.
A scaled score is based on a raw score but also takes into account a number of factors: • how one section of a test is weighted in comparison to the other sections • how difficult a question or version of a test is compared to other questions or versions • how many questions aren't counted as part of the score because they're being field-tested for inclusion in future versions of tests Praxis uses a scoring scale that runs from 100 to 200. 150 is halfway between 100 and 200, and 61 out of 120 is between 50% and 51%; on the face of it, that might look like a sufficient score, but I surely hope you'll be motivated to try to do better than that for the sake of your future students if not your own self-esteem. The subforum to which your thread has been moved is Multiple Subject Tests. Most of the tests covered here are elementary-education tests, which cover ground fairly similar to that of 5511. If you rummage around among the threads, you may find some discussions that shed light on content that you're finding problematic. Let me add that Wikipedia is the test taker's friend.
