I have to plan an integrated unit for Grade 1 (Science, Studies of Society and Environment, Art, Technology and HPE) using the theme, Nursery rhymes and Fairytales. I think the fairy tale will be Goldilocks and the three bears and Humpty Dumpty will be the nursery rhyme. I am only guessing as the Grade 1 teacher has not specifically told me. I need some suggestions on the science and SOSE side, my mind is blank at the moment. Hope you guys can kick start my creativity.
FOr SOSE, you could learn about the forrest. Read about what is in a forrest, make a list of what ALL forests have, and then make a picture of what the three bears might have seen during their walk in the woods.
Could you do "eggsperiments" for science? Making the egg bounce like a rubber ball or the one where the egg gets pulled into a small opening in a jar. I'm sure you can google experiments with eggs. Maybe some eggshell mosaics of humpty dumpty for art.
