Hi! I'm teaching a law class which is heavy with course content. I don't want to lecture for more than 20 minutes, but I also don't want to interrupt the pace of the information. Does anyone have any activity ideas to break up the lecture (to reinforce the material) or even just to brainstorm or to get them moving? This is a senior course (gr 11/12). I already do case studies and questions from the text so looking for other ideas.

    Thank you!!!

Welcome to A to Z, Ashala! A quick procedural point: A to Z Forums policy strongly discourages duplicate threads on the same topic at the same time by the same member, on grounds that spreading the conversation out over different threads or even different forums tends to dilute discussion. Forum veterans tend not to search for new posts forum by forum; instead, they use one of the "Latest Posts" links at the very top of the page to locate all the threads in which someone has posted something new since the member's last sign-in.

    (No, you're not in trouble.)

You've posed an interesting question. What kind of law are we dealing with here? Court procedure? Policing? Civil law? Civics? Or... ?

Hi - sorry I wasn't sure what forum to post into that would receive the most replies. I"m teaching Canadian Law 12 in a senior class. I think you can make the course content super boring or super interesting and it's my hope that I can make it super interesting.

Here's about 50 mini-activities to break up your lectures.

If your school has technology :
These sites are good for terminology
    Just pointing them out.
Probably not what you need, but just saying

    Quizlet Live
You will have to create Quizlet cards first.

    Kahoot
Students love this. It takes some time to set up, but students love thie would be really good for your class.

I really recommend introducing Socratic Seminars/ Harkness seminars in your class.

You can PM me and I will be happy to share all kinds of resources with you.

It is just too much real estate to take up on this site.
