Ok, I don't actually have a home office, more like a corner of my bedroom. I'm moving soon and want to treat myself to a new desk. The one I have now is great, except that when I assembled it I forgot a stabilizing bar, and now it's warped from the weight of my printer. It's this one:

I was just going to buy the same one (it's on sale) but then I remembered how often I have left a cold drink on it and it bubbled up the laminate finish. Whoops.

I saw these 2 on Overstock. The prices and dimensions are pretty much the same, so I can't decide. Which do you like better, and which do you think would show fingerprints less?

    Option 1:

    Option 2:

Right now I'm leaning towards option 1 because I think it'll be easier to keep clean.

I like the look of the 2nd one (overstock) better.
But, I have to have a desk with drawers.

I would go for Option 1. My sister had something very similar, L shaped glass top. She loved it, the glass was sturdy and like you said easy to clean.

I'm all about reviews and that one seems to have some pretty good ones.

Option one with the clear glass gives a more open look. :thumb:

I like the dark one. But like ku, I mist have drawers, cubbies, something! :)

We will be replacing our cheapo but pretty desk in our home office with something much more substantial...but nice things are espensive!

I agree drawers would be nice. Instead, I have a plastic drawer thing. When I move I plan to buy pretty paper and line the front inside because the drawers are clear. It'll look a lot better!

I like option 2. My SIL lined her plastic drawer container with paper too. It looked really neat!

Option number 2 has gotten better reviews. In my house, I would be very concerned with stability, between my kids, and our cats jumping onto everything they can, and with myself being a major clutz. Both of the desks have sturdiness mentioned in the negative reviews. Just something to consider further...

Between the two, I like the dark one better.

However, if I were putting a desk in my bedroom, I'd want it to coordinate with my bedroom furniture. Plus, I'd like it to have storage and a way to have things put away when I wasn't using them so I wouldn't feel like I was sleeping in an office.

One of my friends had an armoire desk. When she wasn't using the desk, everything closed up nicely. It was a similar style to this one. It had room for a full-size computer, printer, and all the other office-type stuff. All the cords ran through the back.
