I recently found out that I will have a different position next year. I know that I am lucky to have a job, and I found out pretty early, and I'm not even changing buildings... but nonetheless I am feeling bummed. I really like my current position and classroom and was just starting to feel comfortable for once. Now I need to move classrooms and develop a whole different curriculum. Can you help me get excited about this and see the positive?

What will you be changing to?

I am sorry you are being moved! It stinks to be moved and have no choice over the matter. On the bright side, it will be a good chance to reflect on your practices and start fresh. You'll have all summer to prepare, and since you know now, you can begin looking at the curriculum for the new job.

Thank you. I am changing to math, which I have taught before but in a different state (different standards) and there isn't a textbook or anything for me to get started with... ugh. I do like math, though.
