I teach 9th grade World History and I am wanting to hang shelves on my walls to display the project my students build. The problem is that the walls are concrete blocks. Is there a way to hang anything on the walls without have to drill in the blocks?

Your custodian might have some solutions.

I used my Google-Fu, and the short answer is no. There is no good way to put shelves onto your walls without drilling. What kinds of projects are they? Can you just tape them up? (you might need duct tape - then again even my classroom posters don't stay on the wall with tape)

Or just buy a bookshelf off of Craigslist that rests on the floor.

    9thWH,
Home Depot (and probably other places) has a 100lb concrete and brick picture hanger which you pound into the wall. Would you be allowed to do this?

Alternatively, epoxy a small piece of wood to the concrete, and hammer the hanger into wood. However, Peregrin5's suggestion of a bookcase resting on the floor might work out better.

Talk to your custodian! I would not want to be responsible for shelves falling and injuring someone.
