    i want to some certification in teaching can any body suggest for me which one is best and i am interested in ESL
    also bilingual
    can i do suh certitification from community college that is passaic community college in new jersey is it worthwhile.

    my background is bachelors in economics but i m interested in teaching now

    Each state is different, so even if I knew what was current in NY it wouldn't be of any use to you.

    Take a look at the NJ State Dept of Education website under Teacher Certification. Since you already have your Bachelor's, I imagine you want to look under "alternate certification."

    Consider getting a masters in Ed and doing your student teaching for certification. You may be able to transfer some economic credits toward being highly qualified for SS or math...check with your college dept of Ed...community college is truthfully not your best bet though...try Montclair, William Paterson or Ramapo.
    Many districts in NJ will not take on alternate certificate candidates.

    Ed=education

    SS= social studies

    Yes, all three schools I mention have education departments.

    but their requirements are tough for alredy teachers an must have some work with children .........do u know anybody who is teaching in paterson nj ....can guide me more accurately...

    Why not contact a Paterson school and ask to speak to a principal?
