I hope there are still some familiar faces around. Things are sure crazy in teacher land.

I’m going to go read and catch up, and probably lurk. :smirkcat:

Thanks! I’m good. I’ll be teaching remote all year, and I’m excited about that challenge. I’ll have 16-19yr old kids in an intervention setting who have chosen virtual learning, so we are going in with a lot of resources and a lot of positives. My bird is thrilled.
Happy to see so many familiar names still posting.

Sounds exciting! I know we as educators will all be relying heavily on the use of technology in the coming months. If school is full-time in person, if there is solely remote learning, or if there is a hybrid model, technology plays a vital role. For the longest time I have not appreciated how technology can aid my students and I have since seen the positive impacts technology can have. However, through COVID-19, I am a bit anxious as to how I will provide that deeper learning that comes with building rapport with students, through technology.

I feel the same Matthew. My daughter really didn't like the on-line program that the district came up with last year so we got her to try a private catholic program that has been on-line for 12 years or something. I'm really curious how they do it so I've been attending classes (in the background). The teachers handle the technology very adroitly, and the kids are pretty savvy but the lessons just seem sort of lifeless anyway.

Maybe that personal touch isn't as important as I believe, I mean the kids seem to be getting it.
