You have the attitude to succeed! Good for you!
You will rock this grade! I know it! Can't wait to hear more successes!
Maryhf and SCTeachinTX: Thanks.
Jess, Alice, Becky, Thank you too!
Aside from the homesickness, how are you liking AZ? The weather has been beautiful this week. Have you gotten the chance to get out and do some exploring? What side of Phoenix are you in? If you tell me what side of Phoenix you are living in I can give you some suggestions of things to do, but I'm not at all familiar with anything in west Phoenix.

Sounds great Nasimi! I just did the same thing, moved my high students near my low ones, and it is helping out a bit. It takes a little while to assess where your students are in the various subjects. How are the other teachers at your site? Are there any that you share interests with? It seems there is always something going on at elementary schools and you will stay busy so that's good! Keep in touch!

Hi Kat, sorry it has taken me so long to get back!! I have been so busy! We have this week off for Thanksgiving break and I am so grateful, I need it! Anyhow, overall things are going pretty good. I'm getting to know my students better, streamlining my lesson plans and getting more organized. There are some nice teachers at the school but I'll admit none I've really "clicked" with. I'm still dealing with some homesick issues. I have a dear friend who also relocated from Southern California to Virginia a year ago! She has been a great source of encouragement. She told me it took her several months before she felt the emotions begin to level out, and she's a pretty even keel kind of gal. My focus is my students and working hard to help them make the improvements they need to make academically. My folks are coming up here for Thanksgiving, so that will be nice to see them. I'm driving back to Cali in December...and it will be great to see family and friends that I have missed so dearly. I must say I thank God daily for the job that I have. When I read about how tough it is in Cali right now, I know I was brought here for a reason. I don't know what the future holds but for now I'm glad to be working! Hope all is going well in your Kinder job!
nas~glad things are going well for you!! I might in AZ in March. Dh is going to a military base out there for 5 months starting in Feb.
STG: Hey that would be cool...give me a holler if ya think of me. Have a great Thanksgiving ok?
Enjoy your week off!
Thanks, Jessica...I will!
I think you have the positive attitude that will make your experience a great success!
