Things are really tough at school right now and I'm having a difficult time dealing with it well. I told a friend today that I would quit if it weren't for my students, and it frightens me that I feel that way. I could use some prayers for the strength to get through the next month.

Ah, Mrs. C, I'm so very sorry.

Your kids need you now more than ever.

I'll keep you, and your school, in my prayers.

I thought you were happy with your school, sorry to hear this. I held on as long as I could for my students, but could do such no longer, I'm only human. Kids are very resilient though. Take care of yourself.

I am, overall, usually very happy where I am. I work with some wonderfully dedicated teachers and I love my students to death. Some decisions are being made, however, that I don't agree with and I'm having a hard time dealing with both the decisions and the negative impact they are having on our students and the support we are able to offer them. I'm a 'mama bear' when it comes to my students; it makes me angry when they aren't treated the way they should be.

That's a desperately hard place to be, MrsC.

Run-of-the-mill ignorance can be vexing, but gratuitous and deliberate idiocy tends to get me mad enough to spit bullets.

I understand 100%, unfortunately I was in a similar situation before I could land on my own 2 feet as a new person. One year later I still cry for my students and wish I could teach them again, in a better environment where I could love and nurture them without being targeted by the powers. But, the students will have to continue on in a system that puts them last. It's really heartbreaking.

I will let go one day fully... I don't know your details of what's happening but good luck. It really takes a higher power. Hopefully you have parental support. Most parents know what's right for their kids, and it's a relief to have them back you up, even when the school won't.

    Take Care.
