I don't know what to do. I have a long term sub lined up for Oct-Dec.
A position just came up in SpEd for a para. I worked para last year but was let go due to budget cuts. Same school as last year but different room.
Now I have been asked if I want to interview for the para job.
I don't want to burn any bridges but don't know what to do.
I was looking forward to actually teaching on my long term job but a para is full time with benefits.

Not sure how to proceed. The money is not the deciding factor at all since its para pay vs. sub pay. Almost equal in our county

For me, I think the LTS will do more to further your career but you're the one who has to live with the decision.

That's what I was thinking. Just hope that the P understands.
Both jobs are at the same school so it's really a tough decision.

The LTS definitely would look good on a resume, however, the para gets you into the school all year.

Any other LTS jobs opening throughout the year?

Does it look like a classroom teacher position may open up next year (retirements, large class size...)?

    Do you need the benefits?

After speaking with the P and AP, I decided to do the LTS. They also have another one for me in the spring. I have also decided to try to get certified in Special Ed since that is where my heart is.
