I have to drive to Fort Worth TX from AZ via Albuquerque this weekend.

Just how are the roads in Northern TX?
(can you say Northern Texas or do you say the Texas Panhandle?)
Just how are the roads in the Texas Panhandle? Better?

Good luck! The weather is supposed to be pretty nasty for a while. I live in central Texas, so it might be different here than up north. We have been slammed with rain. My back yard is like a swamp! Maybe it will be nice through the weekend!

The panhandle should be fine...it is mostly north and central Texas that is flooding. You might check out the travel forecast on weather.com.

This weather is so out-of-the-ordinary for us! I live in a suburb of Ft. Worth (hence, my username ;)). The roads are good, for the most part. What you have to be careful of is flash flooding, during an actual storm. What part of FW are you coming to? And when, exactly, are you coming? If it's this weekend, you might be okay. The rain chances are dwindling daily, according to the weatherman.

I'm down in South Texas we are expecting flooding again here today. I feel like I haven't seen the sun in two weeks, oh wait I haven't. My son was in Denton from June 10-30. He said it rained everyday there too.

My Wife has to fill in as a manager for a week at a Hotel, a Best Western.
Coming from AZ I know flash floods, some time the storm can be miles away and you will get a flash flood.

But coming from Arizona I am really looking forward to see this stuff you call rain (My city has 360 days of sunshine a year) if it wasn't for the Colorado River we wouldn't know what water was.

No precipitation was lost in this post. The poster used to live in Oswego NY, Home of th 104 " snow fall.

I live in East Texas. On the news last night, there was a report of flooding in Tyler, and they had to perform a high water rescue for a woman and her son. Ft. Worth is flooded in parts, as well. We've had nothing but rain nearly every day for like a month. It's awful, but at least the temperature hasn't gotten too high lately. A river has formed down my driveway and into my front yard.

    http://www.noaa.gov/

If you click on the map under watches & warnings it gives you any weather related info. It's pretty nice. You click in your area & it narrows it down, by counties.

    Travel safe!!!

I'm in Denton and it is crazy the amount of rain we have received. Our lawn was getting SO bad because every time thee boyfriend would plan to mow it, it would rain. Finally he ended up mowing it while it rained!

    Was he singing?

    I'm mowing in the rain
    Just mowing in the rain
    Not a glorious feelin'
    I'm not happy again
I'm being laugh at by clods

    The mud does appear
    My Babe said to start
And Just look at my gear

    The storm clouds did chase
    Everyone from the place
    Came in from the rain
I got a kiss on my face
    I walk down the sod
    I listed to my ‘Pod
    Just mowin',
    Mowin' in the rain

    My apologies to Gene Kelly

I think the lawnmower would get stuck out in the swamp. We used to have a yard instead of a swamp, but maybe next month it'll be dry!

Our tanks, however, are all full to the brim, and the cows and the deer have plenty to eat this year. That certainly wasn't the case last year!

Well, yee ha, Dave! Welcome to Cowtown!!!!

Y'all need to go to Billy Bob's (our world class honkytonk in the Stockyards.) Go to the Stockyards in the daytime and see the cowboys drive longhorn cattle down the street.

    Eat a burger at Kincaid's.
Go eat Mexican food at Joe T. Garcia's (NEAR the Stockyards.)
Go to the Star Wars exhibit at the Museum.
Go down to the Trinity River and marvel at how deep the water is. Pray it stops raining.

Seriously, the roads aren't too bad, it's just raining, raining, raining at least once a day.

How long are y'all going to be here?

Oh, a week. I just noticed.

There are a lot more things to do here. PM me if you need my two cents worth. I live in south central Fort Worth (just around the corner from Woodway Elementary (unfortunately not where I teach) if you have a map.

I will sing your mowing song if it ever gets dry enuf to mow.
