What are the shows that you really liked? I would love to start thinking about when we'll be able to go there since it's been a few years.

I looked up reviews for the ventriloquist Terry Fator and everyone seemed to love his show, so we'll probably want to see it too!

What else did you enjoy about Las Vegas that you recommend? :)

Vegas is one of those places I like to visit every few yrs or so. I prefer going during the winter months since summers are so hot. Haven't been in the last year, but been a total of 3 times. I'd skip the Madame Tussads Wax Museum. It's too small & not worth the ticket price...unless they've improved it since I went.

I love the dinner buffet at the MGM Grand.

Trip #1 - Stayed at Circus Circus
    Trip #2 - Stayed at Harrah's
Trip #3 - Just flew for the day (no hotel)

Next time, I'd like to stay at the Bellagio or the Wynn hotel. Here's the things I've done:

    - Saw a pro tennis match once held at the Mandalay Bay
    - Went to the Shark Reef Aquarium at the Mandalay Bay
    - Saw a David Copperfield show at the MGM
    - Strolled through the shops at the Venetian
    - Went to the Fashion Show mall
    - Strolled up & down the strip

I wouldn't mind seeing a Celine Dion concert or one of those Cirque du Soliel shows.

Look at the site www.yelp.com where people write reviews for all kinds of places. You can get ideas of what to avoid & what to try.

I've seen KA and O. I liked KA and LOVED LOVED LOVED O.

We were there last November and had a great time. We've been twice and stayed at the Monte Carlo both times. We really like the hotel and their casino - it's the least smokey. I'm really not use to the smoke since there is no inside smoking in my area.

When are you thinking of going?

I have no idea. It's fun to think about an upcoming vacation though so you have something to plan.

I've seen Mystere and really enjoyed it. One of these days I want to see Penn and Teller's show and Ronn Lucas, who is a ventriloquist with a dragon character that's really cute.

Cirque du Soliel shows...amazing. We were there in March. Hoover Dam of course is just a dam dam, but ya should go. "Old" Vegas rocks. We had a blast there, but go late at night for the light show.

    Don't know what K.A. is.

AGREE about O. It is breath-taking (cirque de Sole is nice-but by intermission I am ready to be done...but O is SO incredible!).

Agree about down-town vegas and the light show. Plus I like being down gambling at the old places.

I agree about the Monte Carlo. We had stayed there 2 or 3 times. I like it because it is centrally located (and on the monorail) but NOT a biggie hotel where people are crowding in JUST to see the place- and you get lost just being on the casino floor - like an MGM.

I THINK I am reading this that you HAVE been there before...if not...a word to the wise ...wear comfortable shoes when walking the strip. it's a LOT longer than you my first imagine. And be careful about walking OFF the strip. There ARE areas you shouldn't walk through.

    Sorry....keep adding....

The human statues at the Venetian shopping mall were funny. Agree about the wax museum.

I saw Jay Leno at the Mirage (he was in the Terry Favor theater there) and Bette Middler at Ceasars Palace. Both were excellent.

I took an incredibly day trip to Red Rock Canyon, and I highly recommend that. It was fabulous!!!!!!! I heard others on that trip talking about what a great time they had on a Lake Mead cruise, so you might want to look into that as well.

If you like Broadway shows . . . The Lion King is now at Mandalay Bay. Very good show, but decent seats can be pricey.
The Phantom of the Opera is an abbreviated version of the Broadway show, but well worth it.

Love is also supposed to be very good. It is set to the Beatles music. I haven't seen it yet, but those who have really liked it.

The Elvis show at the Sahara was kinda cheesy, but the guy put on a good show. He was on one of those TV talent shows and won.

Donny and Marie are at the Flamingo.

Lots of casinos are offering 2 for 1 deals if you search for deals.

Don't forget about the free stuff too- Fremont Street Experience, Bellagio fountain, Conservatory at the Bellagio, Volcano at the Mirage, Pirate show at TI.

    Have fun!

Ka, Phantom of the Opera, the steak place at Circus Circus, the Bellagio, dinner at the Stratosphere, In and Out burger, the old strip and shops, and the Marine's Ball were my favorites on the two trips I took last year.

We went to Vegas earlier this year, and we didn't get to see any shows, but we did see two exhibits at the Luxor - the Bodies exhibit and the Titanic. Both of those were really awesome

I went to Vegas in June; however, the only show that I saw was my own wedding! haha! Then we had a family dinner at Maggiano's. It was delicious.
