Any Potter fans anxiously waiting for midnight? Unless it is already where you are. Oops.......should have put this in a different forum
My mom is going to tomorrow to pick up her copy. As I was driving home from the movies I passed a Barnes and Nobles. The parking lot was pretty full! I am excited about reading the book.
I'm looking forward to reading the new one, but I'm not so anxious I can't wait to get my hands on it at the library or when it comes out in paperback (my collection is all paperback except #5 that I received as a gift hardcover)... I refused to go anywhere near a bookstore tonight because of all the masses! (and I moved the thread, no problem! )
:thanks: Clarnet! my daughter was trying to convince me to go tonight, but I can't bring myself to standing in those lines!
I had mine by 12:30 am - I preordered at Barnes and Noble last time and still stood in line for 2 hours to get it, so this time I just pulled up to Kroger's, walked in and got it (at a great price) and walked right out. My daughter is on her way home from Australia today and hopes to buy it in the airport to read on the looooong flight and lay-overs. Enjoy!
I pre-ordered mine from Amazon. It came early this morning, and I couldn't put it down. I won't post any spoilers, but I'm still crying. Does anyone else think the style was really different from the other books in the series?
I bought mine today, but haven't opened it. I know once I do that's it and I must get 3 more unit tests written before Monday (along with answer document, answer key, rubric, scoring sheet for parents, time line...oh I will never finish!) I know that I felt the last one was a little darker...maybe more geared to the adults that were reading instead of the kids. I wondered if that would continue with this one.
I went with my daughter to the local Borders to get it Friday night. We had preordered and went about 10:30 to pick up a line ticket. They started giving away tickets at 9:00AM, by the time we got there we were 212! It was nuts, there were over 1000 people there, including the local news. They had activities set up for the kids. Numbers were called in groups of between 30 and 50 depending on the lines (8 registers total, 3 up and 5 down stairs). We were out and on our way home (Thank God!) by 12:30 AM. Now we both just have to read it, good think it is shorter than the last. Hopefully better editing this time!
I picked up my copy at around 10:45 Saturday morning, and read the first chapter in the car before I drove away. I finished it at about 2:45 AM Sunday (still felt like Saturday to me). I would have finished sooner but I lost 5.5 hours to McDonalds.
I preordered from Amazon.com, guaranteed Saturday delivery and we actually got it around 4. My mom had finished my Sunday morning, and I was done by monday...now we just have to wait a few years for my sister to finish...haha she's still on book 3
Well my mom bought the book so I have to wait for her to finish reading it - she is half way through..I can't wait to read it!
