So... Non-renewal (still haven't seen actual paperwork), upcoming baby, quarantine. That's a lot.

And still, Husband is driving up to Oregon to get our new puppy tomorrow!

We can hopefully get a head on training her while we are at home.

    Technically, a mutt.
But... with a bloodline that includes Labrador, Mastiff, and Chow Chow.
    But I like big dogs.

I think mutts can make some of the best dogs, personality wise.

You do know that we are all going to be hanging around this thread, just waiting for puppy pictures, right? We all need something that manages to bring out the best in us, and puppies are at the top of that list for me. Pictures, pictures, pictures!!! Best of luck to you and this new member of your family. Color me green with envy right about now! :celebrate:

I want to see puppy pictures, too. I don't know if you all noticed or not, but I replaced my avatar. I took down the avatar I've used for the past 13 years on this site -- my sweet Chloe who died last month. In her place, I put a new picture of my other dog, Candy -- who I adopted a few years ago when her owner went into a nursing home, and subsequently died.

I will always have a dog in my life. They make our lives better in so many ways.

    I noticed. She's a pretty one!

I was never a dog person until we got our other dog. I liked them, wasn't opposed to the idea of owning one, but really was a cat person. I'm still a cat person, but I'm also a dog person!

I think it is the best of both worlds when you can love all of the four legged creatures. I'm not much of a fan of the reptiles, but have loved a few amphibians. However, I am a lover or virtually all of the four legged mammals - and it does seem to me that we have loved and owned a lot of them, guinea pigs, rabbits, horses, cats, dogs - loved them all. But one of my favorites was the miniature donkey who owned us for just over 30 years. He was given to us when he was a baby, and I loved him so much. He only stood about 30" tall, but he had enough personality to have been the largest draft horse!

Looking forward to pictures, when they become available!

I will never be a cat person -- not because I don't like them (I do) but because I have horrendous allergies to them. Even if I take Benadryl, being around a cat will leave my eyes swollen, my face puffy, and will set off a pretty severe asthma attack. I even react when I just go to someone's house who has a cat -- when the cat isn't even there! If I visit someone's house who had a cat, I have to ask them to keep the cat in another room (cats love me and want to rub all over me), to vacuum the sofa or chair really, really well, and I have to pre-medicate! That will usually prevent the asthma attack, but not the swollen eyes and puffy face.

My doggy is going to be 14 in May! He's such a joy. He had a friend (some kind of terrier) who used to walk up the street with his mom every day. When I put my dog out on his run his friend would come say hi and jump around the yard. It was so cute. We just found out that he doggy friend passed away last week :( How sad. I hope she gets another dog but she is an elderly lady and might not be up for it.

I had cats growing up. I'm 500000% not a cat person LOL I do like looking at pictures of those squishy face cats! I think they are the persians?

    How cute!
And this might be the very best time to get a puppy. They require a lot of time to bond and train, time no one really has when they have to work.

Our other dog is acting like a kid who got a new puppy. All day long, he's like "I'm going to go play with my new puppy now." I'm hoping that helps with the training some what. Other Dog is one of the more unintelligent creatures on the planet, but he's very sweet and well-behaved, so perhaps there is hope.

You made me laugh! I am, unfortunately, under the weather with the Covid-19, but not needing a ventilator - I just need hubby to make sure that food is in the house so I can eat. I am so looking forward to seeing this "super puppy" who looks like a dust bunny!

Not sure how, but one of the fortunate ones to get tested, I guess. All is well except for the persistent coughing.and the fact that for some reason I can't open the puppy picture! Now that is something to cry over. :(

Gunnar is so cute! I'm sure that he is going to grow up to be very handsome. I'm betting he will be hairy (Chow), fairly robust (Mastiff), family dog (Lab and Mastiff), and loved very much. Thanks for sharing the picture - will look forward to more as "the dust bunny" grows. Seriously thanks for bringing a smile to my face. Gunnar is nothing short of adorable!
