My 8th graders earned a movie (part of their behavior program) and we decided to have a little Halloween party. One of the students brought the Corpse Bride to watch. I haven't seen this movie and wondered if it was appropriate. Of course I'm planning on watching it tonight but wondered what everyone else out there thought before I previewed it. Is it age appropriate?

I'm not sure, I haven't seen it...what is it rated? Also, you can look it up at imdb.com, and it'll have a "parent" section that will go over any violence, language, etc. I did that for The Haunted Mansion. I was surprised that even though it was a Disney movie and rated PG it had a few choice words!!

Casper's an idea. I'll have to stop by the store on my way home but who knows what I'll be able to find with tomorrow being Halloween...Any other recommendations?

We're watching it right now! I also used imdb and didn't think it was too bad, I watched it at home, and fell asleep about 20 minutes in, but my dh and dd watched it (she's 7), and neither he nor her thought it was too bad.

Thanks for the info! I read the article on imdb at school and was a little concerned but I'm watching it right now here at home and yes, it's fine. I'm actually really enjoying it!

I will always remember that line in the old Halloween movie about the 3 witches with Bette Midler - "I smell children ......"

Hey that witch movie with Bette Midler isn't THAT old!!!! I love the scene where Kathy Najimy tries to ride a vacuum cleaner. Makes me feely super old to hear someone refer to it as an old movie. Didn't it come out around 1992?
