I am in need of some cute little project that my kids can do for Halloween. I'm planning on starting it on Thursday (next week) and being able to send it home on Halloween!

So far this is all I have found that isn't labor intensive for me in pre-planning or for the kids in doing..

Bat die-cuts on a paper plate (possibly painted silver like a moon)
    Pumpkin Glyph

aaaand that's it! Mind you this is for 1st grade and as far as I am aware I have no parents that are opposed to Halloween, since none have said anything regarding the Halloween-ish activities we've been doing in writing.

I am leery of painting, since it is highly frowned upon outside the art classroom because we have carpet instead of tile. I have kept the idea in the back of my mind though, I do love them and they are adorable!

OneBerry - Thanks for the links! I'll go look at them right now..

Could you have them trace each other's hands on black paper?!?

Maybe if they are seated next to each other. They could do their non dominate hand and then a neighbor or something do the other. I know our dollar store sells googly eyes...

I know I did a hand magnet for mother's day and I had 3-4 mom's say that was the best gift & something they could keep forever...

I gather vegetable cans...spay paint them orange, put a wire handle in them, and then turn the kids loose with Sharpies...the kids turn them into jack-o-lanterns. They are great and the kids love doing them. Then we fill them full of treats for our party.
