We have 3.5 weeks until Halloween, but I'm out of town the rest of week for a wedding and a funeral, so I have basically three. Time to get serious about a costume.

What are you guys going to be, if you dress up?

I had to pick spur of the moment-my student and I were running, and discussing how to make her witch's dress. She asked me, so I quickly picked Marie Antoinette. I made her guess through yes and no questions, but now I'm committed. I WAS going to do Scarlett O'Hara, but she would have NO idea who that was, and I can't have a party this year due to our small place, so I'll save that for a year when I'm around adults. At least this way I can get a history lesson out of the day. I'm off to pick out a wig and start planning the dress....

I haven't dressed up since I was in 8th grade & I was a pirate gal. How about:

    - harlequin

    - cowgirl (I was one once as a child)

    - fairy

    - some superhero

    - Carol Ingalls from Little House on the Prairie

    - a mime

    - your favorite animal

    - a unicorn

Last year my fiance and I went to a party as a zebra and a giraffe (he's 6'8"!). We got lots of laughs.

This year will be my first year (ever) of living in a neighborhood where there is potential for trick-or-treaters. I'm super excited to just stay home and hand out candy. Since we'll be staying home instead of going to a party, I'll probably just wear some cat ears or something... I think I might have leopard ears already.

I'll be dressing up at Queen Elizabeth I, as usual. I might spring for a new wig this year.

I'll probably dig out my pirate wench costume - the Joann's near me closed down and the closet fabric store is over an hour away :(

If it is not too cold I am going to take an old blue bridesmaid dress and throw on a tiara and be a princess.
If it is chilly maybe a bumblebee.

I usually go as a Woodland Nymph. But last year was the first time I dressed up in a long time! I always had to work!

I'm going to be Tonks from Harry Potter this year. Put some pink streaks in my hair, wear a pig nose, all black including a cloak, and make myself a wand - maybe track down a broom stick too.

this year I am going for crazy cat lady. House coat and stuffed cats all over me.

This is also the first year for me living in town so I am super excited that there may be trick or treaters. We are going to do that and then maybe go out to a bar.

I have a Halloween shirt I'm going to wear to school. At home, I'm not going to dress up. I've lived in this neighborhood for 4 years (lots of kids on my street) and nobody ever comes trick-or-treating.

Hmmm, I like this. I may need to hit Goodwill to look for some stuffed cats.

I have a witch hat that looks like candy corn from a previous costume. So i'm going to wear that with a cute orange tee, a really cute knee length black skirt with tulle under it, knee high black and orange striped socks and black flats. :D

I have a she-devil costume that I wore last year and will wear again this year. It's a little racy! I will be going to all adult functions though !

Last year at my previous school, we had a staff Halloween party... I dressed up as various members of the staff... changed costumes throughout the night. Very basic stuff.

I was invited to the party again this year (though I'm not working at the school at the moment, I'll be returning in January)... I may dress up again as a coworker who accidentally put her pants on backwards and wore two different shoes (on different days)...

You are all so much fun! I am going to be a black cat. Same as every year. I change the outfit, but I am always a black cat. I just grab some black clothes and I have cat ears and I wear some cool high black lace up boots

    Erin~that's hilarious!!!!

I think I'll be a vampire this year. We can't dress up at school, but we live in a neighborhood where there are lots of kiddos. My dd is going to be a cowgirl.

    Love these!

I've changed my costume. I had to buy a bridesmaid dress for the wedding I was in this past weekend, and it actually turned out to be the perfect 'Greek Goddess' dress ever. I even got strappy gold shoes and a gold headband to wear during the wedding. I'll find an armband to add for Halloween and get some use out of it again. We can study mythology for the day. ;)

My school does not allow us to do anything with Halloween so no dressing up there. At home, I am not sure. I will possibly be handing out candy. Not sure if I am going to dress up.

Years ago one teacher at my school came to school as a cow,
The cow suit was great BUT the utters on the cow suit were located.... Lets say in a "Bad" spot, it made it look like he had 4 "male" appendages.

If I dress up, I will do my old standby- pirate.

I am a pirate every year. It's just so darn easy! Boots, pants tucked in, this big belt I have, a loose shirt (I will need to get that) one earring, and a head scarf! Easy peasy lemon squeezy!
