    Has anyone had laser treatment?
I am interested in getting it done.

I know the pain varies for diff people and the price but I would still like info from others.
I have heard that with the new lasers it does not hurt as bad.

umm... I would definitely NOT do it. I've worn glasses since i was four, so i've had horrible vision my entire life... which seems to be getting worse these days. anyway, I had it done a few years back and it was terrible! like, i couldn't see anything afterwords. I ended up having to endure two more surgeries after that to correct what they F#^$#& up to begin with. And i still ended up having to wear glasses in the end. and the pain.. Holy wow. I'd rather they would have used flaming toothpicks to tell you the truth. I definitely would not recommend it to anyone.. ever.

I'm actually talking about hair laser treatment. Sorry. I need to change the title.

Sorry but thanks for the info. Might help someone on here.

no, I haven't had laser treatment for hair, but I have for both my eyes and acne.

Though the laser eye surgery would definitely not be comparable (although, contrary to the other poster, I actually thought it was one of the greatest decisions I'd ever made), but I wonder if my laser acne treatments would be somewhat similar...in pain, at least.

I've had four laser so far, one more to go. They've used different kinds on my face, some that didn't hurt at all, some that required me to use numbing cream beforehand, and one that was REALLY painful and the numbing cream didn't seem to help much! That one left me in scabs for a couple days (yes, it was supposed to though).

I feel like I've had great experiences with laser treatments, so generally, I'd trust a laser hair removal treatment as well! :)

I have had about 6 laser hair removal sessions and I did not find it to be painful at all. I went to one place and they used ice packs. I went 5X more 2 years later and they used numbing cream and it worked for me. I did not have any scabs and I never heard of anyone getting scabs! I just had it down on my underarms though. I do wish that I would have spent the money and had my bikini area done too. I didn't realize that it will cost me 3X more to have it done here in Canada.

I can't find the approximate costs anywhere online and when you call they want you to come in for a consultation before they tell you. Then you have to pay for consultation.

I would like to get the bikini area done. I am not too worried about the pain.

Proud2BATeacher how often did you go? Are you happy with the results and is the hair completely gone now?

I am quite happy with my results. I most likely need 2-3 more treatments but I got a special deal after Christmas one year (buy 2 sessions, get 2 sessions free) and then I spent the rest of my "play money" on a trip to New York. I would say about 80% of the hair under my arms is gone. I do love it that:D. I can't remember if I went every 2 weeks or every 3 weeks... I usually pluck now instead of shave because it is mostly stray hairs rather than a patch of hair. I suffer from ingrown hairs when I shave or get waxes, so I am saving up to continue my treatment under my arms and then to start on my bikini line.

Funny you should ask about laser hair treatment. My doctor now does it, he says it is not as bad as the waxing I get. I am going to look into getting a package to get my bikini area done...I have a problem with ingrown hairs and the laser should help!

AMK-I have never been waxed before. Do you think I should try the waxing first?

I believe that I was paying around $50 for my treatments in Georgia (at the time this was expensive for me especially since waxing was only $12). Where I live in Canada it is around $125.:eek:hmy:

Ms. Bee I loved the waxing..it does hurt the first time but gets easier each time after. I just can't afford it every 4-6 weeks. I did it during the summer b/c I was in a bathingsuit all the time. I didn't do a full brazilian wax but I did more than a bikini wax.,they call it an in-betweenie.
Some people do get ingrown hairs from the waxing so becareful.

I looked into this around where I live...it was in the 250 dollar range per treatment. Ack!
I still plan on doing it....but under my chin..I get a few weird dark hairs :( I use depillatory cream, but it gives me a rash.
I think they said I would need about 3 treatments..so it would be around 800. I checked into it about a year ago. I need to shop around some more though.

The prices could vary widely geographically I assume..and the place I called might be more expensive than others. I'm going to research it to find out because I wanted to get it done this summer.

WOW!! $250 sounds like a lot. I would never pay that much for treatment just on my chin! Have you tried looking at a places a little further from where you live. I would rather pay $100 less for a 45 min. drive...

Good idea. I am going to call around to places that I may have to drive awhile to get there.

Well, I guess me having paying $125 doesn't sound too bad -- with the exchange rate, you are still paying more than me;). If you are planning on doing 4 or more sessions, I am sure that you will get a deal.

I wonder how many sessions it would be for bikini?? Hmmm. I really want to do this but I wonder if I should just wait until next year.
