    Hello all-
    This is my second year teaching 2nd grade, however in a different school. In regards to Guided reading, this year I want to keep a clearer track of guided reading data and student progress.

    Any suggestions on what has worked for you? I want to be able to pull out data when asked for it and that it is clear. I was thinking of just using a record book....
    Thoughts? :confused::confused:

    Thanks

    Merari

    I use Fountas & Pinnell for assessment and check off lists from Daily 5 CAFE.

    How do you keep that data? In a folder with individual tabs per student? In a binder?

    I had a binder with tabs. I would have note taking templates that I would make that I would fill in as the kids were reading. I would use that data to plan future lessons based on each group's needs. These were my own informal assessments but I would also put formal assessments in there as well.

    I also teach second grade and have the kids chart their running record scores each time in a bar graph...At the end of the year, they can see where they started and where they ended!
