Does anyone know of a place where I can order height/growth
    charts for our preschool.
We want to measure the kids in Sept., January and at the end
    of year.

Can not be too expensive...I need several.
Or any suggestions on making one?

    Thanks so much/

a cheap idea is to get measuring tapes (as for sewing) and attach those to the wall. My other idea is to go to any teacher store & buy a bulletin board set for it. I have a garfield one, but I've also seen animals etc..

I just got a cute one from ABC Teacher Outlet. It's a giraffe and it shows you how tall other animals are so the kids can compare. It was $10.90 + shipping.

You can always use butcher/bulletin board paper. Just use a measuring tape to put the heights on there if you want the numbers on it or tape the measuring tape on the wall next to it. If you do that you can do it really wide and have all the kids on the same one lined up next to each other.
