Hi! I just found out that I have a group interview soon for subbing! I recently graduated so this is my first interview for any type of position really.

Have you ever had a group interview? Do they ask the same types of questions? What is it like? I want to get myself as prepared as possible.

I've had a few group interviews. In mine, they mostly asked us the same questions and we took turns answering. They rotated who answered first. I did have one where we had to work together on some questions to come up with one unified answer. That was definitely interesting!

I imagine same question asked and each person gets a chance to answer.

I just recently had my first group interview. I think I made a post about it somewhere on here if you want to look for it. I wasn't a fan of the group interview. Good luck!

As I've said many times, group interviews are an awesome way for a district to show they have no respect the profession. Best of luck to you.

I actually love group interviews! I get nervous easily and it seems to take the focus off of me. Instead, the focus becomes on how well you collaborate with others. But then again, I didn't get offered the job when I interviewed in group or individual interviews.

You can ref some interview questions as follows:

    Tell me about yourself?
What are your biggest strengths for Teacher?
Why did you leave your last job?
What are your career goals for Teacher?
What kind of salary would you require to accept the position: Teacher?
Why should we hire you over the other candidate?
What is your system for evaluating student work?
What would be the ideal philosophy of a school for you?
What have been your most positive teaching experiences?
Could a student of low academic ability receive a high grade in your classes?

I had a group interview for a subbing position in the past...all they asked were things like "tell us about yourself, where did you go to school, do you sub anywhere else, any other previous experience, etc." Then we were all given paperwork to fill out and that was it. It was more of a formality than anything, no one there was in danger of not being hired (unless they gave completely bizarre answers, which no one did).
