I live in a condo and I am not allowed to have a grill. I can only have an electric one. So I have been thinking of getting a grill pan! Are they pretty much like the grill? I just want to make sure if I get one I am going to use it!

I think Rachael Ray has a grill pan that you can put right on your stove and she says she uses it for grilling all year round. I just saw her using it on tv yesterday and it looks neat.

I can't wait for you to get responses. I have spent the last 2 days wondering if I should by an electric BBQ. What exactly is a grill pan?

Would a panini maker do a similar job as a grill pan?

Yes, I've see Rachael Ray, Giada and Ina use them...I want one too! So, I'm also waiting to read more reader's responses here.

    Anyone?

At one time I had an indoor electric grill. It was about the size of a crock pot and similar to the W.-S. grill. It was a pain to clean up. I have a Hamilton Beach grill that is like a George Foreman one. It has a timer on it and the plates come out for easy cleaning. The big old round one tastes more like real BBQ grilled food than the HB grill does.
