    Hi everyone!
I am leaving for vacation soon and wanted to stock up on some books to take to the beach :)
I am in the middle of rereading Educating Esme right now and LOVE it! Anyone have any other book suggestions similar to that? I am a teacher ed. student right now so reading these great teaching stories gets me more and more excited to start teaching!
I saw one at Barnes and Noble titled Teach like Your Hair is On Fire (I think). It looked like it had pretty good reviews...anyone read it?
I'll be heading to the library this week so give me all the suggestions you have!! Thanks! :2up:

I'm in the process of reading Teach Like Your Hair Is On Fire and am enjoying it. I would recommend The Essential 55 by Ron Clark. Great book and a quick read.

I love Jonathan Kozol's Letters to a Young Teacher and Savage Inequalities.

    I *heart* Essential 55

I agree with Calalilys... Ron Clark's Essential 55 book is the best.

32 Third Graders and One Class Bunny by Phillip Done is one of my favorites. It is a light read with good tips throughout.

I really liked the 32 Third Graders also...

I just read "The Emergency Teacher"- I liked reading from her perspective.

I met Ron Clark once, and he's a super nice guy! He gave a presentation at my college, and I worked the event. I even ordered his Subway! :) He personalized my book, and it's something I always share in my "ME BAG" at the end of the year.

I got some of books above on CD from my local library and listened to them in the car. Ron Clark's though are the best!
