The First Year Survival Teacher Guide is an EXCELLENT book. It's about $30 new but it very worth the price. I've been substituting for the past few years and now that I finally have my own classroom for this next year, I'm glad I have this book as a resource.

That's a good one! I also have "The New Teacher's Complete Survival Guide" by Bonnie Murray. I used that book so much my first year!
I checked out "The First Year Teacher's Survival Guide" from the library and got some helpful info from it as well. You should also check out "The Teacher's Guide to Success"
I bought that book a few months ago and it is great! I've put tabs on a ton of the pages and I'm sure I'll be going back to it throughout the year.
