Any suggestions on getting out grease stains? I have a shirt that is part of a set I want to take on my cruise. Problem- somehow it got a grease stain on it. It just make a couple of spots look darker than the rest of the shirt. I have tried everything I know!! Anyone have a trick? :thanks:

Lightly rub some dish detergent on the spots. Wash in cold water and let it air dry.

Spray the spot with some cheap hair spray; really soak it. Wash as usual. I've never had it fail.

Wisk. My dad worked on equipment, and was very greasy. Mom used Wisk, and was able to get it out.

Try putting some liquid soap on it.

Thanks guys!! I think it is a cotton/spandex blend. The tag is gone!! It feels like a light tshirt material with a little stretch to it. I tried the dish detergent and am letting it dry. If that doesn't work, the hairspray is next. I am trying to use things I have before I go buy something.I wouldn't car4e, but it matches a cute pair of shorts I want to wear and I am too cheap to go buy a new shirt!

Try putting corn starch or powder on it and letting it sit. It will absorb the grease.

Be careful with the hairspray if it has any iron-on transfers. I tried it once and the color started to run.

Dampen the spots, coat them with Dawn dish detergent, and "scratch" it into the fibers. Then launder with the hottest water the garment can take.
