Currently my district gives the students percentage grades. I would like to go to a grade level checklist instead of percentages on their grade cards. I feel this would show the parents where their child is really performing. Our kindergarten class does this. I have two questions. One: Do you like giving percentages or having a checklist grade card? Two: Does anyone have any grade cards they would like to share?:help:

I am with you, teach1st! We give letter grades (converted from percentages) which I feel is extremely inappropriate for primary grade students. Our kindergarten uses a checklist, and I wish we could adapt it for primary.

If you're looking for skills that might be appropriate to include on your checklist, try the Continuum of Literacy Learning by Fountas and Pinnell... It is fabulous at outlining specific skills for each grade level and in each area of literacy.
