I am finishing up grad school classes for my Reading Endorsement this year. I am not going to get my masters yet, but the program I am in is the first half of the masters.
The program I did was very well laid out. I take 1 class at a time for 7-8 weeks, 1 night a week for 3 hours. When I am finished I will have taken 6 classes.
I am in grad school. I'm getting my M.Ed in Secondary Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment:Teacher Licensure. I have 2 more classes to go then student teaching begins. All together 36 credits are needed. 6 of those credits are student teaching.
Hi Petite, I was looking into a program like that (M. Ed in curriculum, etc.) but was afraid I would not be able to find a job as my major was not in a high need area. 36 credit hours is a lot better than my 62! (and only 3 credit hours are student teaching).
I am currently in a program for a Masters in Literacy Education. I already have my reading license so this is just more in depth on reading and writing. I enjoy it, but it's a lot of time once I am done with homework. One night every other week, 4 hours, plus one 8 hour Saturday a month.
That doesn't seem like a bad schedule Dizzykates. I have 3 classes online and 1 class that meets Monday nights.
I'm starting this Fall at good ol' Kent, Stark Campus. They offer a whole C & I program there. Just right up the road from me. We'll see how teaching full time and two grad classes goes.....
With any luck, this is my last year. I'll pick some class (soon, as classes start next week) so I'm officially a "student" and can take my comps this fall, then student teach next spring. Then I'm done.
I'm at good ol' Cleveland State University. CSU has a very flexible program (majority of the masters program is online). Its just A LOT of credit hours since I don't have my masters. I hope to quit my FT job and sub while working on my Masters. Better hours/days and I'd actually make more.
I might be looking into getting a 2nd Masters or maybe getting into a PhD program in the Spring. I have no idea where to go, though.
I am taking the GRE next week, I am SOOO scared of it, the vocab is freaky lol. I start grad school in Jan.
