    Congrats on the offer! Use the year to get experience, then try again for public school next year if you want to.

    Congratulations! In your shoes, this close to the school year, I'd probably take it, get everything I can out of the experience, and try again for a public school next year if that's still what you want to do. The job market is super tough in my area though so that would play a big factor in my choosing to go that way. But either way, congratulations! It's a good feeling even if you don't accept. :)

    that's a tough decision. I think I'd take the teaching position for experience since you already have aide experience. the only other thing I would consider would be to become an aide in public school that would get you in the door @ the public school setting - but real classroom experience would trump aide experience I think

    Congrats! It's a good start and you don't have to be there for 30 years! I know Public schools like to hire special teachers from private because that is where they send some of their kids sometimes! Good luck....you'll do great! =)
