My district uses progressbook and I can post homework and attachments there, but feel a webpage can offer more for my students.

Which is better, creating something on googlesites or edmodo? Are there pros and cons to each?

    Which do you prefer?

    Googlesites doesn't require a password.

Edmodo can send alerts to cell phones when new content is added.

Edmodo allows students to chat with each other (whole class, not individuals, and teacher is included in whole class) and that can be good or bad.

I couldn't find a template on googlesites that suited me. I used Weebly.

I used a website for a few years, then used edmodo for a few years, now I'm back to a website.

I think I just like to have projects to work on, I enjoy building sites.

Edmodo is almost like Facebook, but on an educational platform. I have created a site with googlesites, and I am happy with the options there. I think it comes down to personal taste.
