I'm trying to work out some plays that would be useful to read with middle school students and having a hard time being sure of which ones would work well.
I'm thinking A Raisin In The Sun might be a good one since I read that when I was in 8th grade, but I don't recall reading any other plays myself in middle school, and haven't seen any done in my practicums yet. Do y'all have any suggestions?

I feel like A Raisin in the Sun may go over the heads of many 8th graders. It's in our 10th grade lit book here. I'm sure the trading level is appropriate, I just worry about the themes.

Our 7th grade did "A Raisin In The Sun."

    6th did "Romeo and Juliet."

I don't know any more, but I am definitely following. I'd like to do poetry and drama for the rest of the quarter.

Our school did the taming of the shrew and related that to the movie 10 things I hate about you.
