What is everyone watching this summer? My husband and I are kinda in a show hold right now while all our regular shows are on break. We have Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon. We're not picky, we like a little bit of every thing.
What genres do you like most? Or some shows that you've been into? It might help narrow down the selections people give you If you're into sci-fi, Person of Interest is amazing (JJ Abrams involved, just like LOST ), as is 12 Monkeys. The former is on Netflix in full, and the latter is on Hulu with 3 out of the 4 seasons (the 4th is currently airing).
Most of the stuff I watch is on Netflix/Amazon. "Meeting the Enemy" is a documentary about white supremacists, and is rather well done (NF) "Bad Genius", also on NF, is a movie drama about Asian students who attempt an elaborate cheating scheme on college entrance exams (the basic idea behind the scheme, by the way, is based on time zones and has actually been done in real life). I wouldn't recommend "Tokyo Vampire Hotel" (Amazon Prime) to everyone, but the idea is interesting and it has some great sequences.
I am watching the handmaid's tale. It is on its second season. It showcases many issues that America is facing right now (separation of children and parents at the border for example, etc..).
GLOW, GLOW, GLOW, A THOUSAND TIMES GLOW. It's a Netflix series, and don't let the wrestling angle throw you off. It's really funny, but also smart and sweet and features all kinds of different women.
I think British crime dramas. I’m binge watching Lewis at the moment. They don’t really focus on the gory details but more the crime solving aspect and it’s really interesting to see how the crime story unfolds.
Dark, Sense8, The 100, Ozark, Justified, The Blacklist, The OA, Hell on Wheels, Burn Notice, Covert Affairs, Hawaii Five-0, Stranger Things, Person of Interest, Mindhunter
We like crime dramas, westerns, sci-fi...we just finished what was available for The Ranch, Hell on Wheels, Handmaids tale, The Good Doctor, Orange is the New Black, The 100, and Bull. Like I said, we like a little of everything. I'm re-watching Vampire Diaries (even though my hubby says I lose brains cells when I watch this one LOL) and Eureka. We just started Bones which is ok so far. As for movies, we like action/adventure, sci-fi, and scary movies.
I love Call the Midwife, and right now I’m bingeing Upstairs, Downstairs. Have you seen the Benedict Cumberbatch Sherlock episodes? Outstanding!
Brain on Fire It’s on Netflix! You won’t be disappointed (and I normally can’t sit through an entire movie, but my eyes were glued to the TV).
The Expanse on Amazon is gorgeous and well-done. I'm a huge Queer Eye fan, so I'm savoring Season 2 on Netflix and refusing to binge.
Shameless- perfect mix of drama and comedy! The Office- You can never go wrong with it! I've probably rewatched this series like 27 times.
TV Shows Strange Evidence - Science Channel I Was Prey - Animal Planet The Proposal - Channel 7 (ABC) World of Dance - I like it better than So You Think You Can Dance So You Think You Can Dance The Four Movies Skyscraper Mission Impossible - Fallout The First Purge Tag Jurassic World Equalizer 2 Traffik A Quiet Place Hereditary's an odd one, but it you like odd, great!
Stranger Things! If you haven't done it, do it! DO IT. It will suck up the next 8-16 hours of your life, but it will be well worth it. DO IT!
Hawaii Five-0 is a good one, although it takes forever to get caught up,while trying to avoid spoilers from others that are caught up. It's worth the binge watch though
Also if you haven't already seen it, 13 Reasons Why on Netflix is a show that I would reccomend (Warning it's pretty graphic). It makes you more aware of signs of bullying and depression within your students.
I know you have had several suggestions already but I thought I would add a few to your list They are all on Netflix. Series: Father Brown Midsomer Murders Wildlife SOS An Hour to Save Your Life Longmire (My hubby loved this show!) Movies: Deceived (older movie with Goldie Hawn but I hadn't watched it before; I thought it was good) Spotlight Defiance My Daddy is in Heaven Mountain Top Flash of Genius
Went with the girls to see the movie Book Club and haven't laughed that hard in a theatre in a long time. Definitely a middle age and up chick flick.
Harlan Coben has 2 series on Netflix that were really good. Safe and The Five I think they are called. For something lighter I'm watching Good Witch also.
Switched on Netflix -- a Japanese drama about an attractive high school girl whose body gets switched with a classmate: specifically, the ugliest and least popular girl in school. Formerly ugly girl refuses to switch back. It's six episodes, but make sure you have some time to watch it all, because once you start you won't want to stop.
Just got caught up on The Blacklist. Not my favorite season. Now watching the new season of The Great British Baking Show. On Prime Video I started watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I have no idea why I didn't watch it when it first came out but it's fun.
Well, watched Squid Game. I was hooked. Maid is good. Locke & Key October Faction (struggling with it) Invisible Glitch In the Dark
I no longer watch anything that requires me to watch sequentially or miss out. Walking Dead ruined that for me. I realized seasons ago that I was becoming the zombie! Now I'm back to watching TV like I listen to the radio: turn on, tune in, turn off until next time. I miss nothing. Sounds a bit like Timothy Leary
