any good ideas for a short, but good book to read to fifth graders on the first day of school?

and if you know any that focus on math and s.s. that would be even more awesome.

Math Curse by Jon Scieszka is a great funny book that fifth graders "get".

I read Thank You Mr. Falker by Patricia Palacco. The kids love it and it teaches the importance of knowledge, families, and treating each other with respect.
