Are there any children's books that you use to integrate into your Science and Social Studies. I want to try some different things in my class this year. This is my 2nd year in third grade and I was on maternity leave for some of my first year.

Depends on the topics that you cover.

I would definitely look into the magic tree house series. She writes a fiction series but often has a nonfiction book to tie in with the fiction book.

The Magic School Bus series is great for science.

    Book Wizard

I searched my favorite teaching tool, Book Wizard, and put "science" in the search box and narrowed by these parameters. Interest Level: Grades 3-5; Interest Level: Grade 3; Reading Level: 3.0 - 3.9 and found 181 items for "science" in all its aspects. Do the same thing for social studies.
