I am trying to gather a list of good books for oral retelling. What books do you use for retellings? I use these so far:
    Goldilocks and the Three Bears
    The Three Billy Goats Gruff
    The Three Little Pigs
    Mrs. Wishy Washy

Do you use big books or do you mix it up Miss B? I have limited big books.

    The Little Red Hen
    The Gingerbread Man

Nursery Rhymes work well with retelling too. We act out:
    Little Miss Muffet
    Little Boy Blue
    The Three Little Kittens

I usually have one story for each theme that we re-tell, right now I would highly recommend The Little Old Lady Who Wasn't Afraid of Anything.
