Hi everyone!! I wanted to know some good series of books that third graders like to read. I know they like The Boxcar Children and Magic Tree House. Are there any other series I should consider buying for my classroom library. (I have been looking on Ebay) Thanks ;)

I can only think of the series A to Z Mysteries and The Littles. I'll keep thinking and get back to you if I can come up with any others.

    Horrible Harry is popular too.

Adventures of the Bailey School Kids might be another one to check out. :)

Maybe Nancy Drew and the Little House series. Animal Ark, Pony Club, Time Warp Trio, all the Beverly Cleary, Stuart Little, The Elevator Family, some can read Madeline L'Engle - A Wrinkle in Time and Roald Dahl.

My kids really like Junie B. Jones- especially those in the early reading level. (Some teachers don't agree with Junie B. Jones because of the content, but if they appeal to the students that don't like to read, I say go for it!) Beverly Cleary is a hit in my class- not to mention that Ramona, Beezus, and Henry crack me up! Fudge, Fudge-a-Mania, and Double Fudge are great sequenced books. I also have Roald Dahl books and many of the great illustrated classics. The Magic Tree House books are also great!

I think Junie B is a trip and half! I bought one at the thrift store last week and read it myself. I picked one up while student teaching to read on lunch, and that kid is funny.

I always to "The Littles" with my 3rd graders every year. They love them!

Horrible Harry is a great series, and the books are pretty skinny, so they don't intimidate kids.
