Okay, I am going for a really long bike ride in an effort to get my slouchy belly back in shape. I am not impressed that my 24 yo body is suddenly getting a little pudgy around the middle...I have never had that problem, EVER! Anyone else find that they started collecting pudge around the middle? What do you do about it? As it is I eat very well (fruits, veggies, etc.) all I can think about is the fact I don't work out very much beyond my general chores and evening walks.

Oh and when I get back I am hoping for more suggestions and answers over on the job seekers board... hint hint...

    :haha:

Or are in the classroom. I keep being warn about all the food that will be shove under my face. agh!! I thought teachers stay more physically active so that food intake vs physical activity is a wash?!

I've been in the classroom for three years, I definitely put a lot of the blame there...that and my coffee habit before work (not plain coffee mind you, lattes and mochas...oops!)

8 miles on my bike tonight - yay!

Moreover, It's not weight, it's just loss of muscle, I haven't gained a pound.

Maybe I should take a pic of me in a bikini and then set a goal and if I don't make that goal, post the pic online......

LoL...that would be motivating. What I don't get is that I haven't gained pounds. So what kind of goal do I set? I am thinking riding my bike more/farther and lifting some weights. Maybe ditching the fancy coffee a few times a week. My budget would like that too.

I think with something like that, its better to make goals of riding your bike x miles every day/3x a week, whatever and weight lifting 3x a week.

I am practicing this for parties... you get a cup of something to drink, and nurse that sucker to death and don't put it down until you take a potty break! When you come near a table of food, or somebody insists you try their dessert..you tell them, "I have something now, thanks." You will instinctively not let both hands be occupied!

thanks! I also have a weird habit of offering to clean up, maybe getting brownie points, snooping, I dunno...seems like fun washing dishes at other people's homes! :p I know director loves to see teachers with initiative, and when they see you cleaning up when others are walking out, they always comment about dedicated people.

    keep busy!

also...some standard stuff you may be doing already...

    take the stairs

park further away from the door

get one of those exercise balls. you gotta train your body to balance your new extra weight..doing so is exercise in disguise!!
