Just wondering how many of you celebrate the "golden birthday?"
What do you do to make it more memorable?

Are you asking who has turned 50?

We always called the number of our birth date as our "golden birthday" I was born on April 5th so my 5th birthday was my golden birthday and yes. we do throw a large party that year.

Thanks Diznee, we will certainly to to stay safe. It is the water that I am worried about and not the wind. We started putting furniture up on blocks and picking up anything that we do not want ruined.

My kids' Golden Birthdays ended up in a strange order. My youngest has his on his 9th birthday, my middle was her 10th birthday, and my oldest has not had hers yet bc she has to wait until her 28th birthday which is still 4 years away.

We did a trip for their golden birthday's. My middle daughter's 10th birthday was the first golden birthday. We took her and 10 friends and cousins to our beach condo for 3 days. My son turned 9 less than a year later and we took him and 9 friends camping. For my oldest daughters 28th birthday, we are thinking about a cruise for us, our children and their SO's.

We celebrate them in our family. Mine was when I was 2. :(
My sister's was at 13. I know we did something special for her, but I don't remember now what it was. My brother's isn't for another year (his 26th); I'll have to talk to Mom about what we want to do.

I haven't either, Alice. Mine was a long time ago! Out of the 4 of us, Alex is the only one who hasn't had his--it will be in 2016.

I would have liked to, but I didn't know about it until after my middle child's would have been celebrated and I missed my oldest's as well, so it wouldn't be fair to celebrate my youngest's, even though we'd have to wait 26 more years. The other two wouldn't even know, as theirs would have been 2nd and 3rd.

My golden birthday was my first birthday; I don't remember it, but I'm sure there was a big soiree as I was the first grandbaby on both sides!

I've heard of golden birthdays, but they're really no big deal in my family or where I come from. Pretty much, "Oh, hey, it's your golden birthday!" is the extent of it.

Mine was my 29th and I had 2.5 month old twins, DH had a dinner and we had gold stuff but nothing over the top. DH's was his 30th and we had a biggish party at a bar and went to New Orleans for a few days, but we probably would have done something big anyway for his 30th. My kids will be thier 18th, so a big birthday anyway!

I had never heard about it until mine was approaching. My dad was making a big deal about me having to spend it alone. (Alone as in without my family.) He came down for it. But we really only went to dinner.
