I've spent the summer reading about and trying to plan RW and WW for my classes this year.

I found out my bell schedule and it is so bizarre.

I have all of my classes for 45 minutes on Monday. The other four days, I see each class twice for 90 minutes

I've planned and planned and I feel lost and scared about what the right way to handle this is.

    So, I've decided:

    Monday - Writer's Workshop
    MiniLesson
    Status of the Class
    Independent Reading
    Closure

Other Two Classes - Reader's Workshop
    Mini Lesson - 15 min.
Class Novel Read Aloud - 15 min.
    Discussion - 10 min.
Status of the Class - 5 min.
    Independent Reading - 30 min.
    Journaling -10 min.
    Wrap Up -5 min.

Just so I'm clear, I need someone to tell me I've got this right...

During indep. reading or writing, I'm walking around and conferencing with the kids. They can either be:

    RW
    A. Reading
    B. Journaling
    C. Conferencing with me
    D. Small group discussions (?)

    WW
    A. Brainstorming
    B. Drafting
    C. Conferencing with me or classmate
    D. Editing/Revising

    Do this sound right/okay?

    Am I missing anything???

And, I'm trying to create a theme around each unit. This has always been my weakness. I'm no good at it. I'm sure that is for another thread though. :dizzy:

There is no doubt at all that you will do well. I haven't even started yet, but look how far you have come. Students will be lucky to have you and I'm glad to have found you on this site. Don't worry. You will do great.
