Does anyone know of any springtime glyphs that students could complete? Like maybe a butterfly or something. I searched on the 'net but couldn't find any good glyph sites. Thanks in advance.

I saw one today in a first grade classroom. She did one of kites. I could get more info if you are interested.

Here is one I adapted a couple of years ago from the ones found on the abc site. I teach fourth grade and I prefer that they cut out and "create" their own instead of color in something. They always turn out very cute and everyone is unique. This works when Easter is in April like it is this year.:)

    Name ______________________________ Date ________________

    Follow the directions.

    1. If you like rain showers, make your flower petals red.
If you don’t like rain showers, make your flower petals orange.
    2. If you play tricks on April Fool’s Day, make the center of your flower yellow.
If you don’t play tricks on April Fool’s Day, make the center of your flower black.
    3. If you like spring, give your flower a straight stem.
If you don’t like spring, give your flower a curvy stem.
    4. If you like bunnies, put one leaf on your stem.
If you don’t like bunnies, put two leaves on your stem.
    5. If you do anything special for Earth Day, make the wings of your butterfly purple.
If you don’t do anything special for Earth Day, make the wings of your butterfly blue.
    6. If you like the month of April, make the body of your butterfly black.
If you don’t like the month of April, make the body of your butterfly tan.
    7. If you celebrate Easter, decorate your butterfly with polka dots.
If you don’t celebrate Easter, decorate your butterfly with stripes.

I just saw a couple of really cute glyphs books at Boarders in the teacher resource section. I'm not sure who they're published by, but one is a month-by-month and has a themed glyph for each month, with patterns... they also have a community one and at least one other one. They looked pretty good, I think they're geared at 1st-3rd?
