OMG! I am dealing with the same problem today. Although mine are not as bad as they used to be. I have taken meds and they still won't go away. Luckily I didn't have to do anything today so I stayed in bed all day.

I don't take anything when I get them. I can still manage even when they hurt. Drinking plenty of water, taking a nap, and a warm shower help.

I'm in the same boat today. If I have cramps tomorrow morning again i'm going to the gym. Sometimes exercise helps me.

I put on a funny movie to distract my mind. I also take a walk if I can. Very casual and make sure I wear comfy clothes. I stay away from carbonation during this time. It seems to make my cramps worse.

Stop taking all those painkillers. You can tear up your stomach lining that way! Ask your doctor for a prescription and get checked for endometriosis.

I'm not big on medicine as a rule, so one Extra Strength Tylenol is all I've ever needed.

When the kids at school have problems, I recommend caffeine-- hot chocolate in the cafeteria or coffee. (Obviously we can't recommend anything stronger.)

Hope you're feeling better today. If not, I would agree: call your doctor.

Thanks for the responses. When I wasn't on BC...they were horrible...I mean...throwing up horrible. Now I am on BC...but it is a constant pain.
I know I shouldn't take the meds...and it is bad for me. My mom is a RN...and freaks out when I told her what I take.
    They wake me up sometimes...blah.
Would the doctor just put me on stronger pain meds?

I never had issues with cramps until I had my tubal. They've been terrible since then. My doctor prescribed Tramadol. Usually I can take one and sleep for awhile and they go away. I cannot take OTC pain medicine except Tylenol, and it doesn't help at all.

Several yrs or so ago, I used to throw up sometimes on the 1st day mine starts. These days, my stomach just feels worse on the 1st day...not really so painful that I have to stay in bed all day, but just minimum to medium pain I'd say.

When I knew it was about to start, I'd take Naproxen a couple days before it started. Then, on the day it happened, it was extremely minimal to almost nonexistent pain.

I use to be sick, throwing up, headaches and terrible back/stomach ache during the first two days each month. My doctor put me on the pill and usually I am fine, maybe achy, but definitely not throwing up due to pain. I have taken up to 4 ibuprophen at a time though. My doctor approved it as long as I don't try that every time I get a headache.

I feel your pain, st. Mine are horrible. I'm allergic to codiene so my doc gave me an "emergency" supply of deladin (a morphine drug). I try not to take those because morphine, for some wierd reason makes me hyper and jittery (maybe that's why all my ironing got done today). I feel like crap and I've been through an entire 30 count package of overnight pads since I woke up at 7am. Being a woman SUCKS sometimes. Wish I could be more help, but at least you know you're not alone.
