My husband and I are expecting baby number 2 in November. :) We should find out if it is a boy or a girl in a week, and we are having the hardest time coming up with a girl name. Our current list includes Lily, Caroline, or Presley. Thoughts?

I really like both Caroline and Lily. It seems like a girl's name is so much harder to think of than a boy's name!

Lily must be coming back...I know another girl with the name of Lily...she'll be 1 this year.

I think it depends if you want that girly name or the unisex name. I mean Presley could be boy or girl. Just like Bailey...I love that name but I think of it as a boy's name...now it's a unisex name...

Congrats! I love all three, but Caroline is my fav! I think the more traditional names are making a comeback. I love the name Sophia!

Congrats! I'm terrible...I had a friend named Lily who turned out to be quite the B so the name's a little ruined for me! I really like Caroline the best out of that list!

I'm nervous about Lily because I'm supposed to have a Lily in my class next year. I know how some names can bring up certain connotations!

If we had another girl, she might have been named Charlotte. I really like Presley too...you can make it more feminine by the spelling-Preslie, or Preslee. I also like Caroline.

    Caroline is nice.
I'm a fan of Maryl for a girl. (the 'l' is not a typo :))

I like Presley...mostly, though, because I love Elvis and I had a student named Presley and she was amazing.

Congratulations! I like Caroline and Lily as well. Presley is cute, but I don't like the idea of changing the spelling. The little one would forever be correcting the spelling. My name is often spelled wrong and it's a pain in the butt!

I am fond of Caroline, but love Lily from the Kevin Henkes books. No vote on Presley.

I like Caroline. Very classy and will age well with her. I think Lily is becoming trendy again. Presley is not really my style and I'd probably think it was a boy if I saw it on a class roster.

    Caroline is a beautiful name.

    But I like all 3!

If you like Presley, you may also like Paisley. I love Piper too. My daughter is McClain. I also like Addison and Aubrey. My sister's name is Caroline, and she named her daughter Cara Rhyse (pronounced Reese). I also love Lauren. I think I could have easily named ten girls. I thought it was much harder to name my son. It's so exciting to pick names. I think it is so much fun to think about who they will be and what kind of person a Presley will be. Good luck and best wishes on your upcoming bundle of joy.

Not a fan of Caroline. It comes off as mature to me.

    I love two-name names!!! :)

I think Caroline is my favorite between the two, but Lily is certainly beautiful. I'm not too fond of Presley.

Do you like just Lily or would you consider something like Lillian, with Lily as a nickname?

I was going to suggest Paisley, too, and also Lucy (which is my daughter's name, so I'm partial to it of course!)

Those choices are all so different (Lily, Caroline, Presley).

I'm biased. I had a child whose mother had multiple personalities. Her mother was Lily. On the flip side, it is also my sister's dog's name and I love her!

    I like Presley the best!

I also <3 Piper and Rhyann (Ryan for a girl!)

I think Presley is my favorite so far, but I'm worried it might be a little too uncommon? My daughter is Avery so I like that they would both have unisex names. I don't know--it will probably change again! Our boy name was so easy to come up with this time, if it's a boy, we're good! Thank you for sharing all your thoughts---we're not discussing names with family or friends prior to the birth.

Really? I can think of at least a dozen girls names I love. I told my boyfriend that if we end up having 2 boys we're going to be in trouble, because there aren't enough boys names I actually like. They're either too common, too weird, don't fit with the last name, are too religious sounding for my taste, or are already "taken" by family members.

Ravin...I agree I think boy names are hard because you want them to be cute as kids, but grown up when they are adults...you know like Johnny then Jon or Jonathan. I had a list for girls a lot longer....

My fam members that have both said that the girl name was easier.

LOTS of Lily's around here...but I love it.

    Caroline is my favorite.

Our neighbors named their daughter Oakley this week. I thought it was cute and unusual.

Our list for girls names was abundant so that's why it was difficult for us. Boys names was a REALLY short list.

Between those three names, I like Lily the best. I also like:

Gabrielle, but I don't like the nickname Gabby

And no offense to anyone who has this kind of name, but I don't care for two-name first names, such as:

    Donna Joy
    Kelly Anne
    Charlotte Raye

When I was a kid I named one of my dolls Cynthia Sue and I told my mom that's what I was going to name my daughter LOL I kind of still like Cynthia but I really like Victoria (although I don't like Vicky or Tori for a nickname) and Callandra (Callie for short).

I like Preslee. It is very cute, and very 2012. I love the name Brinley for a little girl. I also like Aubrey and Charlotte.
