I have two wonderful ladies who volunteer in my classroom, helping my students with their reading. I would like to give each of them a small gift for Christmas. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I would like to suggest a beautiful ornament that they can look at and always remember how appreciated they were.

Something from Bath and Body, Sonic card, home made bread, or just a super nice hand writen letter about how much you appreciate thier time and how it compliments your teaching and enriches your students' lives.

For my volunteers, I always get them a bottle of lotion from Bath and Body Works and attach a card. In the card, I truly thank them for volunteering, and I include a picture of my class holding the word Thank You. Let me know if you want more explanation!

Photograph the volunteers with the kids. Put the picture in a large frame with a white mat. Have the kids write notes on the white mat. They are volunteering out of the kindness of their hearts, return with a sentimental gift.

All of these are great ideas! Parents are always so shocked to get something from me.

I am doing a felt bag w/ homemade cookies and a handmade card. I have 8 volunteers. At the end of the year I also do something - usually Bath and Body Works hand soap w/ a cutout of a hand and a poem about giving us a hand.

These are great ideas. These are not even parents; they are retired ladies who live near the school. As wrice said, they do this out of the kindness of their hearts.

My staff always appreciated Starbucks gift cards. I like the idea of making something. It won't matter what it is, they will be delighted.
