We have four students leaving the class and I would like to do something nice for them. What do you typically do for the kiddos not returning the next year? I should say- one dilemma I have is that one student really doesn't have any friends. He can be a challenge to work with, but I really want him to have a sweet goodbye gift, either from the kids or myself (ideally both), but I don't want the gift/card/whatever from those kids to be disingenuous either. I can see several students not wanting to be the bigger person and wish him well...and I hate the idea of them writing an empty "we'll miss you" card.
Something I've done in the last is having the kids write goodbye messages with markers on a pillow case. I've done it with shirts, too, if I had one in the cabinet.
