Does anyone have any experience getting certified in texas from oklahoma? My current cert allows me to teach any social studies from 6 -12 and science from 6-8, plus Earth science in 9-12. I looked into the texas certification and it looks like their secondary certification is 8-12 and 7th and 6th are elementary. Would it be easier to just take the elementary cert tests in OK and get my certificate changed (in OK all you have to do is take a test to add endorsements to an initial certification). I'm just trying to expand my options for jobs and not being certified to teach in 6th or 7th limits my options.

Anyone with experience please give me some advice.

You can get certifications in EC-4, 4-8, and 9-12 in any subject from 4th on. I think you would just have to take the certification tests that you wanted in order to be certified to teach.
