This week we have been sending boo-grams with our staff. This is when you get a bag of treats/goodies and leave it with a cut-out that says "boo" for a staff member to find, and then they have to "boo" somebody else within 24 hours. There is a poem that gets sent with the boo that explains what the directions are. We've had such a good time boo-ing each other, that I thought it would be fun to do it again at Thanksgiving/Christmas/Valentine's Day. Do any of you have access to other "gram" poems that could be done at these other holidays?
I did this for Valentine's Day last year with my co-workers. I'll see if I still have my poem saved here or at school and can send it to you. It was a lot of fun and none of the teachers ever knew that I was the one who started it.
Egg-ed would be cute for Easter! I would avoid Christmas if your school does other things (ornament exchange or secret pal) because we all have enough going on at that time of year that avoiding an extra errand would be better.
What's the poem that goes with it? I may just cut off the part that says to pass it on and just give a treat to my grade level co-workers tomorrow.
I had definitely thought about skipping Christmas, but I remember doing a "gobble" at Thanksgiving years ago, and thought a "cupid" at Valentine's Day would be fun. And..sorry, I don't have the poem here at home, but if you'd still like it (for next year...) I'll definitely pass it along
I loved this! We did it at my school and it was a nice way to make someone's day. I love to hear if anyone has a Thanksgiving one.
I'd like to do this too! Please keep us all informed about the poems. What kinds of treats and goodies did you use? Let's come up with some ideas for a other holiday baskets.
We did that for a couple of years a few years ago but then people started complaining that they didn't get a good one and blah, blah, blah, so it died out. Bunch of ole Bah Humbugs they are. I thought it was a great idea but apparently having fun is not in the program.
What kinds of things went into the baskets? notecards? stickers? paper clips? what? did it depend who was the next to receive?
It is up to you, we has things like a few decorations, halloween socks, candy, a halloween cookie jar, etc... (Not all of this was in one basket, just a few or even 1 thing depending on what it was). here is a link for the poem and a cute ghost: http://www.beenbooed.com/beenbooed-outline.pdf (this is different than the one we used at school, but cute!)
mostly it was Halloween candy, but the teachers next door to me got Halloween beanie babies....i was totally envious
