Hi there! Would you mind sharing a way to introduce and teach geometric shapes and solids for first graders? I am planning on going on a shape hunt around the room and perhaps asking them to bring in items from home. What else do you do? :thanks:
Well one of the favorite lessons I taught was on three-dimensional shapes. I had students create cubes out of toothpicks and gumdrops while following my lead. They had a blast! I also gave them an opportunity to munch on some gum drops (about 3) at the end of the lesson.
