It was $3.00 at one station this morning, but I had to drive fifty miles today to go to an inservice and the gas was 2.59 so I filled up! I wanted to go drive around some so I could go back to get more cheap gas! :p

Gas went up by me from 2.59 yesterday to 2.99 today. My hair colorist today told me he heard gas might be up another 50 cents within 2 weeks. I drive 32 miles each way to work...I'm getting nervous about my entire check going to pay for gas to get me to school!! :-(

The gas station that I usually go because it's the cheapest was $2.64 on Monday, $2.84 yesterday and today was $3.11...for regular!! I thought I was going to die! I found one that was still $2.83 so I stopped there because I'm afraid to see what it'll be tomorrow.

$3.09 in SE Ohio as of today :( Lucky for me I drive a tiny Honda Civic hatchback. I used to hate it because it's so small, now I'm more thankful.

This was the original post on this thread (3-25-05):
"I know gas prices are skyrocketing but I was shocked today when I had to fill up. I paid $2.12 a gallon. How does this compare to other parts of the country? What are you paying and where? Just curious."

    My, how things have changed!!

Wow, these prices are truly skyrocketing! Tuesday morning gas prices for regular unleaded was $2.56/gallon. Then Tuesday night they went up to $2.75/gallon. Only to get up this morning, go run errands, and happened to glance at a gas station sign to see $3.09/gallon, and all of those prices are for regular! What are we to do?

I am so glad that I teach out of my home and my hubby has a motorcycle to take to work. $3.09 by us as well for regular unleaded. YIKES! It's pretty insane and ridiculous.

I'm wishing gas was 2.50 right about now, I just paid 3.01 this morning. And they're expecting it to go up again. I'm beginning to think an hour and a half on the bus is sounding good. I commute 30 miles each way...how are you all saving?

We went from 2.55 to 2.65 overnight, then to 2.82 the next night, and by the time I drove home from work yesterday, we were up to 3.07..I'm glad my car takes regular!! I was advised that gas rationing my be put back into place if things keep up the way that they are...I never thought that would happen again!

This morning around 8:30 am, I got gas for $2.99 at a bp station and acroos the street another gas station was at $3.19. When I was coming home from an errand 2 hours later, I noticed the same bp station when up to $3.09. Wow, what a difference only a few hour can make...

Way out here in West Texas, you have to commute to get ANYWHERE! I drive 74 miles per day just taking my sons to school. I drive a big diesel crew cab truck. I'm cutting back by only going where I have to go (to their school) and driving slower! I leave earlier to give myself time. Also, we're trying to make extra payments on the truck to get it paid for and buy something cheaper for me to drive (which we were going to do if I HAD gotten a job this year! :( ). Unleaded is still $2.99 here.

Gas is anywhere from $3.09 to $3.29 for regular as of around 5pm.

As I've said before, I live about 30-some miles away from where I teach. Luckily, another teacher lives about 5 mins away from me. We're going to semi-carpool starting next week. She has two little kids, so she'll drive me 3 days a week and I'll just pay her for half of the gas money. I'll drive on the days I have grad class and go to my boyfriends for the weekends. If gas goes up to $4 a gallon, which I've heard is likely, it'll save us a lot of money as well as miles on my new car:) We have her husband to thank for the idea:)

if only everything worked out so nicely...

My station, considered the "cheap station in town, had gas this morning for 2.89/gal, after school just a few hours later it was up to $3.05, but haven't the station owners paid the old prices for the gas - I wonder what the mark up is right now on a gallon. It cost me $15.00 for 1/4 tank!

I just talked to my brother who is in Atlanta GA. He said gas prices sky rocketed on Wed up to 6 or 7 dollars but now are back down. He found a place for 2.75 this morning but he said the norm is about 3.11. I haven't been out here (Maine) today except to go to the beach. So I have no idea what the prices are.

Was 2.49 Tuesday, 2.75 Wednesday morning, 2.85 Wednesday afternoon, 2.95 Wednesday night, 3.09 Thursday morning, and 2.99 this morning. I'm afraid to drive by the station today. I went to Wal-Mart last night and was going to buy a 5 gallon gas can. They had 1 one gallon can on the shelves. The entire aisle was wiped clean of them. My mom said she saw a man with a trailer full of them on her way home from the next town over. It's getting crazy!!! I filled up when it was still 2.49, barely. When I saw that all the gas cans were gone last night, I topped of my car. Just to be safe.

Where I work it's now 3.29 a gallon, I think that's partially because of the Labor Day weekend?

Where my prents live in Alabama (in Selma dn surrounding communities), gas is not even available. It's over $3 here in Sacramento, but we have not had a huge spike like Atlantians have seen.

Ok, I'm excited now, because at our new local Super-Center gas is 2.77 a gallon, I can't believe I'm excited about 2.77, lol! I need to buy a gift card for there because then it would be 2.72.

I"m in SW Virginia, and the highest we've had is $3.49 and no one is ever there. The norm has been $3.29, but on Friday it was down to $2.99. As high as this is, I feel fortunate compared to the prices elsewhere.

Our prices have finally gone done around here. We were up to $3.14 a gallon when some of the stations ran out of gas, but as I was in town today the prices have dropped to $2.79 a gallon.
