It's that much down there already. It's 2.60 here in Maine. Great I'm sure it's going to go up even more. I think I might get a Honda Civic Hybrid next. But I have two years left on my lease ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.

JaimeMarie-great e-card. I sent it to some friends. We're at 2.49 for regular unleaded in the Denver area. Heard after Labor Day it will go down. Ha.

$2.64 here in New Mexico (its about 10 cents cheaper in the closest city but we're a smaller town). I miss when it cost $12 to fill up (when I first got my car 2 1/2 years ago). I got a more fuel efficient car then to save money, and now I'm paying way more than I ever did in my old car! haha

Teacher333, I was driving my first car in the early 70's--and I remember strategizing what time of the day (I think I was even) to get to the gas station. Hysterical!! I'd almost rather have them ration it somewhat than be paying the $2.75 and over that it is in my town now!! And wouldn't ya know--I hardly went anywhere over the summer, but now I'm commuting like crazy as school is getting started.

Its 2.57 a gallon for reg in NE Oregon. What really tans my hide is the price of DIESEL!!!! 2.74 a gallon. Its easier to produce than gasoline and they are making a killing.

In response to Chava: Bush is only partly to blame. Congress has had over 30 years to get rid of our dependance on foriegn oil and they have sat on their backsides doing nothing! Also, you need to take into account the many different environmental blends being required in different cities and states. This has greatly increased the price.

pnfw, thanks for the response! did you see the documentary "Farenheit 911"? I said I blame Bush based on the facts presented in the film specifically that GB Jr has dealings with foreign oil and gas entities which has taken its tole on gas prices in some regard...watch the film everything is explained!~Chava

Gas prices around here jumped to $2.69.

Isn't it nice that GWB is able to take a five-week vacation? We taxpayers get to pay the gas bill for his limo and all the cars that carry his security.

I have to say I didn't vote for Bush. But I do think he should be allowed to take a vacation. His job has to be stressful. Five weeks is a little much, two to three maybe would have been better.

As for gas prices I don't even want to go out today to look!

Gas: Milwaukee area in WI: $2.66!!! My hubby went to work and in the morning it was 10 cents cheaper. By the time he went on his lunch break it had gone up. That's just absurd. Although I DID vote for Bush, I think that this gas price thing is ridiculous and we should ALL write a letter and send it in.

Brenda, when we went to Canada last year I did notice that everything is more expensive than over here. Not all things, but stuff like gas and such.

    Jen,
Actually Crash is very thin. Only about 9 pounds. She just has a ton of hair.
The two male cats in the house are HUGE. I call them fat boy and fat boy junior. Though they are all spayed or neutered, so aren't related except that they live in the same house.

Chava, My sister watched farnhype 9/11 that disproves some of the original's claims. She said it was really good. She watched them both before the election.

In Japan the price of gas right now where I live is about 124 yen per liter. That translates to about $4.07 per gallon (if I'm doing the math correctly...). Can you imagine? I'm sooooooo glad there is a really good public transportation system here because I could never afford to drive!

I guess when you look at the European prices, it puts it into perspective (well, a little).

Thanks for the web site, Gas2High! I am lucky as I live within 1 mile of my school, but I dread to think what it is going to cost to oil heat my home this winter!

I only live one mile from the school I work at now. To bad I am applying to a school an hour away. Hey maybe I can actually move out of the basement if I get that job!

teacher333, my mom thought about the oil prices for heating her home this winter to. She is out looking for a wood stove. They have a ton of wood left from when our land was logged.
I hope it doesn't get to high.

It's definitely becomming ridiculous 2.80 in my area!

The best move I've made so far was to get a Gas card from discover. Seriously 5% sounds like nothing but it really pays off in the end.

Here is their best offer for it, Discover Gas Card

YUCK@2.80 it just sent down a penny here we are at 2.59. But of course it will go right back up on Friday. They like to have the prices high for the tourists.
I buy gas at Sam's club it's 2.50 last I checked. I wish they accepted credit cards.

    hello everybody!
i don't know about applying for a discover gas card but i do know that when i get paid i'm going to get a gift card from walmart, put money on the card, use the card for gas and purchases since if you buy gas you supposedly save 3-5 cents and that's a savings that really adds up too! :)

Does anyone have a hybrid (SP??)? My future hubbies car will be paid off in Jan. (YEAH) and so we are going to trade mine in and get something else. He has an expedition and we want to keep it but want a car with the other. I was thinking about getting a hybrid and wanted to know what you guys thought of it. I think gas prices will only get worse.

Price seems to have leveled off or even gone down a few cents the last week or so in NW NJ - about $2.50/gal for reg, except for Exxon - what is with those guys - they are still the highest at about $2.69! And people are still pulling in and paying that price.
