Not sure how it compares, but today our gas prices jumped to 99 cents per litre, in some places it's over $1.00

We just jumped to $2.39 for regular unleaded! It's insane! Any idea why? I am still pretty confused.

$2.54 was the cheapest I saw in the suburbs of Detroit. Cost me $40 to fill up my Trailblazer today!

Six months ago I couldn't wait to get rid of my little scooter (I drive a Metro), now I want to make sure it keeps driving for a while longer! I only have a 10 gallon tank but get 30+ miles to the gallon. I love my little car at the moment! Cheapest I saw today was 2.40 a gallon.

Here in Jersey we have gas ranging from $2.29/gal to $2.67 per gal., and on the news they showed a station in NY where it was over $3.00/gal. I can just imagine what it will cost for oil heat this winter. As it is the A/C cost is killing me this summer, almost tripling my electric bill in one month!

So far, I win the prize!! $2.75!!! :wow: We have broken the all-time record for gas prices, right along with our other notable discomfort--24 days or so (consecutive) of over 100 degrees...

(But at least it's a dry heat...!! HAHA) :D

One day I paid $2.12 and the very next day it was $2.22 at the very same station. I couldn't believe it. I am making sure I fill up tomorrow because the next day it could be higher the way prices are shooting up. People who are working minimum wage jobs are working to just fill up the cars! It is terrible.

I just cringe at the name of this thread. I don't know how any of us teachers are going to make it to school. Thank goodness my carpool buddy has an old little Subaru that gets good gas mileage. I will be paying her each week instead of filling up my tank and hopefully it won't cost me so much. On the news today, one lady said it cost her $500+ a month to fill up her vehicle. She drove a big Yukon, but still. Ouch. We need a cost of gas increase raise in our paychecks.

Yup, I just figured it and it's going to cost me 6.50 a day just to drive back and forth to work, may not seem like a lot, but over a month it all adds up.

gas prices are absolutely TOO high! louisiana in iberia parish saturday I put $33.00 at 2.36 and only got 13.5 gallons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am going to personally email President Bush and let him know i blame him for the high gas prices just because he can afford to pay almost 3 dollars for gas and he is and has friends in the gas industry doesnt mean everybody in the public can afford or want to pay this much for gas...it's ridiculous!

The gas jumped over night here. Friday it was 2.39, yesterday it was 2.49 and today I don't even want to look. Luckly I gassed up Thursday at Sam's Club (like costco) and it was only 2.32. It' s bad when you start thinking under 2.3 is cheap. I remember back when I was a soph. in college I paid 93 cents per gal. That wasn't that long ago either only 9 years.

The REALLY sad thing is that it is at least a dollar higher than what I thought was HIGH last year! I still think $1.59 is too high and here we are paying $2.59. I think that is what they want, to get us to thinking that $2.00 is cheap. Makes me mad!!!

A station right off Rt 287 in Boonton, NJ is up to $2.99/gal so you know where that is going! And if you are running low on gas while on 287 you think that is the only place to stop, but if you drive down a little further it is $2.59. Why can a station like Exxon get away with charging $2.69/gal but Citgo still only charges $2.49?

Well I looked today. I didn't want to the station at the corner is up to 2.55 as of 2pm today.
Maybe they are just trying to get the tourist, and it will go back down tomorrow.

I just about passed out yesterday when I saw that gas prices had gone up again - $2.59/gallon for regular unleaded. This is definitely getting out of hand.

Well, I'll make you all sick... (or maybe give you something to be thankful for).

I live in Canada - close to the Maine border. When we went to Houlton on Friday evening it was $2.61/gallon then - the prices here have since gone up and so I suspect it's probably higher there now.

If it makes you feel any better we're paying $1.12 9/10 per litre (when you do the conversion it would equate to $4.27 per gallon here... (Where's the smilie that looks like it's going to be sick)...

    Absolutely disgusting isn't it????

In parts of Europe, aren't they paying close to $5.00/gal, they must be thinking we have it pretty good. I was going through some old slides the other day and there was one of a friend on the first day his gas station opened in the early 70's, standing in front of the pump - regular unleaded was .47 cents a gallon!!! That was a few years before we went to odd-even days to buy gas. Does anyone remember those days??
